Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Dr.A. P. J. Abdul Kalam has been awarded with the Bharat Ratna in the year 1997 [at the age of 66 ]
 
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, is an Indian scientist and administrator who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Before his term as President, he worked as an Aerospace engineer with Defence Research and Development Organisation  [ DRDO ] and Indian Space Research Organisation  [ ISRO ] Kalam is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. He played a pivotal organizational, technical and political role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974. Some scientific experts have however called Kalam a man with no authority over nuclear physics but who just carried on the works of Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai.


Amartya kumar Sen
Amartya Kumar Sen has been awarded with the Bharat Ratna in the year 1999 [ at the age of 66 ]

Amartya Kumar Sen (born 3 November 1933), is an Indian economist and a Nobel laureate. He has made contributions to welfare economics, social choice theory, economic and social justice, economic theories of famines, and indexes of the measure of well-being of citizens of developing countries. He was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998 for his work in welfare economics.



Lata Mangeshkar
Lata Mangeshkar has been awrded with the Bharat Ratna in the year 2001 [ at the age of  72 ]

 Lata Mangeshkar (born 28 September 1929) is an Indian singer, and occasional music-composer. She is one of the  most respected playback singers in India. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over seven decades. She has recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, though primarily in Marathi and Hindi.
She is the second vocalist to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.



C. N. R. Rao
C.N. R.  Rao will be officially awarded with the Bharat Ratna on 4 February 2014 [at the age of  79 ]

Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao FRS, also known as C.N.R. Rao (born 30 June 1934), is an Indian chemist who has worked mainly in solid-state and structural chemistry. He currently serves as the Head of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India. Rao has honorary doctorates from 60 universities from around the world. He has authored around 1,500 research papers and 45 scientific books. He is the recipient of most of the major scientific awards, and is member of all major scientific organisations. On 16 November 2013, the Government of India conferred him Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, making him the fourth scientist after C.V. Raman, Visvesvaraya and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam to get the award.


Sachin Tendulkar
 Sachin Tendulkar will be officially awarded with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, on 4 February 2014 [ at the age of 40 ] making him the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar [ born 24 April 1973 ] is an Indian former cricketer widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of the modern generation, popularly holds the title "God of Cricket" among his fans . He is also acknowledged as the greatest cricketer of all time. He took up cricket at the age of eleven, made his Test debut against Pakistan at the age of sixteen, and went on to represent Mumbai domestically and India internationally for close to twenty-four years. He is the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries, the first batsman to score a Double Century in a One Day International, and the only player to complete more than 30,000 runs in international cricket. In October 2013, he became the 16th player and first Indian to score aggregate 50,000 runs in all recognized forms of cricket.
